IMPLANT DENTISTRY

Cutting-edge dental precision and innovation

Missing teeth due to injury or dental decay is possible.

However, this can have a significant impact on your oral health such as shifting of surrounding teeth which can lead to gum disease or even loss of more teeth so it is important to replace the tooth that has been lost.

This can be done by different restorative choices such as fixed bridges, removable partial or full dentures or Dental implants.

What are advantages of Dental Implant?

Dental implant is the best restorative option for missing teeth, in most cases. They are the closest in replicating natural teeth. They also don’t require preparation of adjacent teeth. A dental implant also stimulates bone remodeling to prevent shrinkage in areas where teeth are missing and helps restore facial contours in areas where significant bone loss has occurred.

What is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is a prosthetic tooth, usually made of titanium, designed to replace your tooth after it has been lost or extracted. Implants are designed to replace both the root and crown of your teeth to give you a solution that looks feels and functions just like your original tooth. Dental Implants consist of three main parts, the implant screw which is implanted into the bone, the abutment which supports the final restoration and the zirconium implant restoration.

Procedure

Dental implants, surgically inserted into the jawbone, act as artificial tooth roots for anchoring prosthetics, offering a lasting solution for tooth loss. The dental implant abutment is usually attached to the implant body with abutment screw and extends through gums into mouth to support the attached artificial teeth.

Generally, a healing time of three to six months is required to allow the bone around the implant to be firm and strong enough to be able to withstand pressure when the patient bites. During this time, if esthetics a temporary prosthesis can be fabricated to hold the place and compensate for function and esthetics.

After the implant screw has been placed and integrated with your jawbone, it provides a stable and durable foundation for a replacement tooth. The implant restoration replaces the crown of the missing tooth. Depending on how many teeth you are missing, this restoration may be single crowns, a dental bridge, snap on denture or Hybrid denture.
