During your initial assessment, Dr. Aljonaidy will examine your teeth and will let you know if you are a candidate for teeth whitening. According to each patient’s situation, sometimes getting cleaning before whitening is recommended.

 

Teeth Whitening Procedure

  • We place lip retractors into your mouth for easier access to your teeth and gums.
  • Gingival barrier is placed on your gum line. A gel on your gums to protect them from bleaching chemicals.
  • The whitening product is applied on your teeth. The active ingredient is hydrogen peroxide which penetrates the outer layer of your teeth and works on dissolving the stains.
  • This is followed by a light that speeds up the whitening process.
  • The whitening gel is then rinsed off and re-applied as many times as necessary.

 

Some patients might experience mild tooth or gum sensitivity during or after whitening procedure, however this resolves within a day or two.

 

How long does TEETH WHITENING last for?

Patient’s variability and dietary habits such as smoking play a great role when it comes to the lasting effect of teeth whitening. Helpful Tips following your GLO in office whitening

  • For the first 48 hours, your teeth will be especially vulnerable to staining. For this reason, you should avoid tobacco and any staining foods. This would include red wine, red meat, soy sauce, coffee/tea, cola, berries or other dark fruits and fruit sauces, tomatoes and tomato sauces/juices, dark vegetables or foods containing artificial dyes or colorings. As a general rule of thumb, avoid anything that would stain a white t-shirt.

  • GLO Science Professional has the same clinically proven whitening results as traditional in-office whitening but without the sensitivity. If, for some reason, you do experience sensitivity, please contact your dental professional.

  • Teeth whitening is not a permanent procedure. Anything you put in your mouth that would stain a white t-shirt will stain your teeth. Maintain your white smile with regular use of the GLO Professional Take Home Whitening Device.

How to use GLO Professional Take Home Whitening Device ?

  1. Apply GLO Lip Treatment.

  2. Pull cap off GLO Vial and squeeze small bead of gel (1/2 pea size) onto applicator brush tip.

  3. Brush thin layer of gel onto top and bottom teeth, fronts only.

  4. Insert mouthpiece and tap button on Power Pack or in the GLO Whitening App (if using GLO Lit) to illuminate. The mouthpiece will turn off automatically when your eight minutes are complete. For best results, complete three consecutive eight-minute applications each day for 7 days or until desired results are achieved.
